When it comes to mental illness, youth is a critical period: most people living with a mental illness see their symptoms begin before age 18. Approximately 20 per cent of Canadian youth are affected by a mental illness or disorder. These are not just statistics – they are our loved ones, friends and neighbours.

How Your Gift Will Help
Your generosity helps us deliver mental health services that centre around a child, but wrap around the entire family. CASA’s current funding priorities include:
- CASA Research Chair in Child and Adolescent Mental Health
- FamilySmart Family Peer Support Program
- Preschool Day Program
CASA Mental Health has embarked on a five-year, $90 million capital campaign to raise funds for much-needed mental health care for more kids and families in Alberta.
The Alberta government has committed $75 million in capital funding to build four CASA House locations across the province. Government has also made an unprecedented commitment to provide operating funding for CASA Houses once they’re built.
Fort McMurray CASA House and Calgary CASA House are scheduled to begin accepting patients in 2027, and new facilities are also planned for Medicine Hat and Edmonton in 2029.
CASA Mental Health is raising $75 million in capital funding plus another $15 million for community programming over the next five years.
