Neurodiversity is a term we’ve all likely heard of. It’s a way to describe the differences in the ways brains can work. Neurodiversity can show up in countless ways, and your children might have questions if they make a friend or encounter someone whose brain works differently than theirs.
Chelsea Ohlmann, registered psychologist and mental health consultant at CASA Mental Health, joined Global to offer tips on how to talk to your children about neurodiversity, and how to make the world an easier place for those individuals to live in.
Watch CASA on Global News Morning Edmonton at 7:20 on the first Thursday of every month. Each “Your Mental Health” segment features a specialist from CASA talking about relevant mental health topics to children and families in our community.
