Bonnie Blakley

The Board is delighted to announce that effective March 30, 2021, Bonnie Blakley is CASA’s new, permanent Chief Executive Officer.

Bonnie arrived at CASA on February 9th, serving as our Interim CEO. In the last few months, Bonnie developed a strong sense of where CASA is at and where we could be in the near future. As we began our effort to find our next CEO, we conducted an internal and external consultation effort managed by the executive search firm, Leaders International. What we heard was that the following attributes were critical:

• Strong leadership experience, particularly in the healthcare sector;

• Demonstrated experience building and furthering relationships with government, stakeholders and employees;
• A solid understanding of good governance;
• Outstanding strategic leadership to build CASA’s strategy for the future.

What we also heard was that the CEO did not need to be a physician or a clinician.

Most importantly, our consultation uncovered that we must have a leader who believes in and lives the values of CASA – Family, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration and Innovation.

The Board of Directors unanimously agreed that Bonnie embodied these traits, our values and is the right choice to be our new permanent leader.

Please join us in welcoming Bonnie to the CASA family. She brings an esteemed background, previously holding executive positions at the Health Shared Services Saskatchewan (3s Health), the Saskatchewan Health Region, the Ministry of Health in Saskatchewan and founded her own management consulting company in 2015. Bonnie’s undergraduate education was at the University of Regina, and she holds a Masters of Leadership with a specialization in health from Royal Roads University and an Executive Certificate in Human Capital Management from Queens University. In 2006, Bonnie was named the YWCA Regina Woman of Distinction in the Health and Wellness category.
