The CASA Foundation has had some very active summer months! The Foundation team is happily building relationships in our communities! We are raising awareness and generating funds for the purpose of maintaining AND enhancing our existing programs at CASA.
June 2021 wrapped up the Foundations’ 1st annual ‘Spring Brings the Light’ campaign. This campaign was started because we could not hold our beloved CASA GALA for the second year, so we took to the phones!! This experience proved very valuable as it gave the Foundation an opportunity to do some stewardship with many of our donors. The adaptability and resourcefulness, of the donors we spoke to about their COVID impacts, offered us a perspective that we would not have had otherwise. Despite these challenges, together with the generous ‘matching gift’ support of JOHNSON INSURANCE and AMRIK Developments, the ‘Spring Brings the Light’ campaign raised much needed funds for CASA programs. Our CASA CHAMPIONS prove that even in adversity, we still BLOOM!!
Mosaic Home Services is proud to invest in the community through its “Charity of the Month” program. CASA is so pleased to have been the chosen charity for the month of August. A cheque presentation was made by Mosaic President, John Young in the amount of $3,595.40.
Thank you to the entire Mosaic family who made the amazing donation possible!
For nearly 150 years, Foresters Financial has been helping families build financial security while making a difference in their communities. They call it “life insurance with a larger purpose” as most people buy a life insurance policy and put it in a drawer until something bad happens. The Foresters Community Grants program provides members with financial grants to organize volunteer activities within their communities by living well, having fun, and giving back. With a Foresters Financial membership, the purpose is to enrich the well-being of you, your family, and your community – above and beyond life insurance.
In Memory of Brenda Love
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our very dear CASA champions, Brenda Love. Dwight and Brenda Love have been long-standing supporters of CASA and were very involved in the fundraising initiative to build our new CASA Centre facility. Brenda championed many causes throughout her life but music was most important to her. The music therapy room at CASA Centre was named in Brenda’s honour and will remain a constant reminder of her support to our children and families and for the joy of music for those who get to use this beautiful space daily. Brenda will be dearly missed and we send our sincerest condolences to Dwight and his family for their great loss.
Thank You, Volunteers!
The CASA Foundation would like to recognize and give deep thanks to our many, many volunteers who committed their time and energies during our events. We are thankful to each of you for all the ways you contribute in helping our CASA families, and our communities. We truly could not succeed as we do without YOU!!
