On Sunday, July 25, 2021, CASA & the Mental Health Foundation joined the BREAKING the SILENCE team in support of their 1st Annual Surjan Singh Sanghera Memorial Classic, at the Legends Golf course, Sherwood Park, AB.
It was an early morning start but many golfers showed up to take their shot at winning a-hole-in-one! More importantly, however, those who attended spent the day reflecting upon the friend who died by suicide, Surjan Singh Sanghera. Participants were honoured to be spending time together celebrating Surjans’ life. Many participants of the day’s events shared their vulnerabilities concerning mental health and the challenges we all face. It was a brave day, indeed!
At the end of the golf tournament, the overall winner was presented with the annual Surjan Singh Sanghera Memorial Cup. The cup symbolized the collective efforts of everyone that day in doing their part in BREAKING the SILENCE and ensuring that talking about our mental health remains FORE-front!
CASA & the Mental Health Foundation send a special thank you to Raj Virk, Jag Atwal and the entire BREAKING the SILENCE team for ensuring our communities have access to resources and support to talk to. We are honoured to work and walk alongside each one of you!
